About Maroney Swim School

There are five levels of the Maroney Swim School:

Splash & Play
12 months - 3 years. This class is designed for infants to gain water awareness and confidence through the assistance of their parents.

Starfish
These children may lack water confidence but have a basic understanding of bubbles and movement in water. Children will be able to float, torpedo, dog paddle and put faces in water . The swimmer will gain further water familiarization which ensure better water safety.

Turtles
Basic Freestyle with coordination of arms and legs will help with two stroke/bilateral breathing. Backstroke arms, kick and body position is taught. Butterfly kick, streamline, basic dives and underwater skills are the main feature of this class.

Kingfish
Bilateral Freestyle, Backstroke swimming, Dives, Tumbles, Butterfly kick, Breaststroke kick with the focus on technique, body position, strong kick very strong. There is an increase in distance and a continuous correction of stroke and drills.

Dolphins
20m a technically correct Freestyle & Backstroke, Butterfly arms and kick, Breaststroke arms & kick with a combination of swimming action, drills and skills. Demonstrate skills such as diving, tumble turns and streamlines.




Rebooking for the same day and time, are taken in the last month of the current term. New bookings are taken from the designated date,. Term 4 new bookings will be taken from 2nd October 2007.

Make-ups are only given when the child is sick. Notification is required by 8:00am for morning lessons and 3:00pm for evening lessons. Make up lessons do not replace your normal lessons or reduce your next term fees. Make up classes may only be taken by current, paid members, within the term in which the class was missed. We have assigned Make-up days as Fridays and Saturdays.

Payments are made in advance on a school term basis and the cost includes the child's entry and one spectator's entry at the time of class only. Passes must be presented on entry.

Caps and goggles are the compulsory equipment for all lessons. Yes CAPS are compulsory.

Important Guidelines: Children under 12 years must have a carer in the facility at all times during the lesson and are advised to monitor their child in the event Centre Staff need to speak with carer, or the child needs to leave the water for any reason.

Intensive Swim Programs: Intensive swim programs are conducted every school holidays for children. Programs of this nature are ideal for giving children the extra confidence and skills they may need to progress.

Class times: Programs are held 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday. Classes are 30 minutes in duration. No Maroney Swim School programs are held on Public holidays.

MARONEY SWIM SCHOOL IS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL AS OF 1ST JULY 2009.
